Barry Neville

Celebrating the life of Barry Neville

Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial for Barry to be held at his “second home” Oxley Bowls Club at 10:30am, Wednesday 3 August 2022.

Barry propped up the bar on his corner stool for many years. But he also worked tirelessly for the Club as Providore and President.  He would have probably described himself as a middling bowler. But he had success on the greens, including with his son David in the pairs.

Even those who weren’t regulars at the Club took comfort from spotting his lime green car in the car park “ah Barry’s at the Club” they would think. If that was so, then all was right with the world.

Helping more Aussies battle the big C

In memory of Barry Neville, who finally lost his battle with cancer after many many years, I'd like to take the opportunity to assist Cancer Council Queensland in supporting those affected by cancer and funding lifesaving research to help more people survive this disease

Barry was not one for fuss, but I think even he would be OK with the idea that his passing might inspire some who knew him, admired him and even loved him, to donate a few bob if they had it spare.

Molly and family Please accept my wife and My deepest condolences. I only met with Barry once in Darwin when he assisted me but I spoke with Barry many times over many years and always enjoyed the cognitive exchange. He educated me and I was always amazed at his knowledge and how he was able to impart that knowledge. Work was work but I also enjoyed conversations on many different subjects. A mentor but more so someone I considered a friend. Again our beepers condolences , I will miss our conversations Mike and Thao
