To quote comedian Norm McDonald: "I’m pretty sure, I’m not a doctor, but I’m pretty sure if you die, the cancer dies at the same time. That’s not a loss. That’s a draw.”
Lucas packed a mountain of love, loyalty, ambitious ideas and questionable decisions into his 37 years. In memory of Lucas the irrepressible, we want to carry on one of the many things he started but didn't get to complete himself: fundraising to provide continuing research and support for people who have cancer.

I only met Lucas once, but I was privileged to work with Whitney and heard from her what a wonderful human being he was. Anyone worthy of her must have been truly special. When I met Whitney I had just lost a close friend to cancer at the age of 39 and it was incredibly raw. My heart ached for her while I deeply admired how she and Lucas navigated his diagnosis.
